Speed Reading Informations, Tips and Advices

Speed Reading Software

Computers are a great learning aid, and in the world of Speed Reading, there is no exception. Speed reading software provides an interactive way of learning this skill from the comfort of your own home.

As you may know, the main technique to increase the speed you read is widening your eye span. This is achieved through a series of exercises that over time will lead you to read line by line, instead of word by word. The software for speed reading is designed to do just that, they accomplish it through a series of exercises that must be followed daily.

There are different types of speed reading software. The cheaper options give you an interactive course while working on the main techniques. Some of them include test where you are given a text and the PC measures your time.

We find however that biggest (and more expensive) solutions can be a great investment for developing your speed reading skills. These programs build a complete learning environment for you to grow, giving you different methods to enhance your speed and different tests that will measure all the aspects involved in reading.

However there's always a downside. The downside with speed reading programs is that they focus solely on practice. The exercises they give you to enhance your speed work like wonder, but you never get to know the principle of why they work. Some people say that if you know the principles you dont need extra software, and they may be right, but if you want to learn without too much theory, speed reading software is for you.

How to make good use of speed reading software?

If you are going to invest in a program, treat it like a normal course. Set a time everyday for using it and practicing the techniques of speed reading. Keep focus on your goal, sometimes is hard to lose sight of want we want, but the goal is to make the course a habit. I've found that the best time to practice with software is early in the morning.

And finally, have patience. When yo don't have other people at your side it is easy to lose patience and drop your efforts. Mastering the skill requires some work, with enough patience you'll find yourself suddenly reading in seconds what took you minutes.
